The Future Perfect Continuous

Adham is a teacher of English. Today, he is going to be teaching English for all of his students because their exam is tomorrow. He will have been teaching English lessons for almost 10 hours when he finishes the last class for today. He will be very tired tonight because he will have been working so hard.

Although the work is difficult, Adham enjoys his job. In September, he will have been working as a teacher of English for 4 years.

The Future Perfect Continuous

We use the future perfect continuous to say 'how long' for an action that continues up to another point in the future; the second point can be a time or another action.

Let's take examples from the above-mentioned story  :

1- "He will have been teaching English lessons for almost 10 hours when he finishes the last class for today"

Here, the duration of the action ( will have been teaching English lessons for almost 10 hours ) stops at the other action in the future ( finishes last class).

2-  "In September, he will have been working as a teacher of English for 4 years."

Here, the duration of the action (will have been working as a teacher of English for 4 years) stops at or before a specific point in time in the future (September) .

Using the Future Perfect Continuous before another action in the future is a good way to show cause and effect.

As in this example:

3-  He will be very tired tonight because he will have been working so hard.

Cause: He will have been working so hard. السبب
Effect: He will be very tired.

Notice:
Future Perfect Continuous has two different forms: "will have been doing " and "be going to have been doing." Unlike Simple Future forms, Future Perfect Continuous forms are usually interchangeable.

In September, he will have been working as a teacher of English for 4 years.
=
In September, he is going to have been working as a teacher of English for 4 years.
